Techniques for Analog Multilevel Simulation

System-level and multilevel simulations are becoming more and more important in the design and verification of analog circuits and systems. Due to certain limitations in SPICE, new simulation and modeling techniques must be developed for this purpose. This dissertation proposes efficient algorithms for time-domain and frequency-domain simulations of analog circuits. Techniques for multilevel simulation and mixed continuous-time and discrete-time simulations are discussed. The architecture and implementation of the prototype simulator iMACSIM, which embodies most of the concepts, are also discussed.
