Longevity, Oxygen Toxicity and Radiation-Enhanced Resistance to Oxygen in Tribolium Confusum (Mortality, Hyperbaric, Radiation Factors, Induced Repair)
Abstract
dc:descriptionSublethal doses of ionizing radiation increase longevity in a variety of insects, suggesting that irradiation may retard the age-dependent decline of physiological functions. There have been no systematic investigations of the response of irradiated populations to stress, however.
