Existence and Conjugacy of Hall Subgroups and Embedding of Pi-Subgroups

Abstract

dc:description

Let G be a finite group and let π be a set of primes. A Hall π-subgroup H is a subgroup of G such that H is divisible by only primes in π and (G: H) is divisible by no primes in π. This is also written as "G satisfies E\sbπ." If in addition any two Hall π-subgroups are conjugate in G, then we say that G satisfies C\sbπ. If G satisfies C\sbπ and any π-subgroup of G is contained in some Hall π-subgroup, then G satisfies D\sbπ.
