The Relationship Between Torque and IEMG During Proportional Shortening of the Biceps Brachii Muscle
Abstract
dc:descriptionThe purpose of this investigation was to determine the relationship between torque and IEMG during proportional shortening of the biceps brachii muscle where the angular displacement to each subject was based upon the resting length of their muscle. Thirty male subjects participated in the investigation after giving informed consent. The results of the investigation supported the conclusion that the relationship between torque and IEMG is not influenced by the varying lengths of human muscle. When the degrees of flexion were adjusted, based upon the resting length of the muscle, it was found that this factor did not significantly influence the relationship obtained.
