Residency and Practice Choice Patterns of Black and White Medical Graduates: A Comparative Study

This study compared and analyzed the specialty preference (choice) patterns and the residency and practice locations of black and white physicians who graduated from a large urban medical school during the years 1973-1984. The intent of the study was to determine if differences occurred between black and white medical graduates in terms of their specialty preference (choice) and location choice, and attempt to develop a model which would describe and predict primary care specialty and location in an innercity medically underserved area.
