Narrator Intervention in the Works of Wolfram Von Eschenbach (Germany)

By examining Wolfram's narrative technique using the criteria offered by the study of medieval rhetoric, this dissertation is able to present Wolfram as a conscious author. Following the organization of the Poetria Nova of Geoffrey of Vinsauf, one is able to categorize in a logical manner the various types of narrator or author interventions in Wolfram's works. We can then clearly see Wolfram's talent in manipulating the artistic devices available to him.
