The Effect of Oil Revenue on The Fertility Pattern in Iran 1952-1976 (Economy)
Abstract
dc:descriptionUsing data from the 1976 census, this study investigates the relationship between the distribution of oil revenue and fertility patterns across the Iranian provinces. Counter to expectation based on the experience of developed nations, in Iran the increase of oil revenue from 1952 to 1975 was not accompanied by a decline in the fertility rate.
