Abstract
dc:descriptionTo many, the Flexible Manufacturing System (FMS) is a key element in addressing the urgent need to rebuild and streamline the current industrial base. Combining flexibility with efficient production, these systems provide industry with the needed economic benefits to produce with high quality and low cost. Numbering today only several dozen, hundreds of such systems are anticipated prior to the year 2000.
