Creep-Fatigue Interaction of Notched 304 Stainless Steel Bars

Circular-notched and sharp-notched 304 stainless steel specimens were subjected to constant load creep, cyclic loading with hold-time and fatigue loadings at 650(DEGREES)C to determine the lives, failure modes and to understand creep-fatigue interaction mechanisms. The hold-times are one minute and ten minutes. Double-notch specimens were used so that the material under semi-damaged condition in one notch can be examined when the other is broken. Stress analysis, life prediction and microstructure studies were carried out.
