"""Accent"" 1940-1960: The history of a little magazine"

Abstract

dc:description

Accent: A Quarterly of New Literature was founded in Urbana, Illinois, in 1940 by Kerker Quinn, a graduate student in the English department at the University of Illinois. It appeared regularly from 1940 to 1960, eventually numbering eighty issues. Consciously avoiding any one particular literary or political stance, Accent offered an eclectic range of poetry, fiction, and criticism.
