Numerical Methods for the Electromagnetic Modeling of Microstrip Antennas and Feed Systems

The importance of low-cost printed circuit antennas has brought about a continued effort to improve and simplify the analysis of multilayered or stratified media. This thesis derives the dyadic Green functions for the electromagnetic fields in a multilayered medium and shows their relationship to the more familiar Green functions for ordinary transmission lines. This approach simplifies the analysis and allows the treatment of an arbitrary number of layers with a minimal increase in effort.
