A Method of Moments Solution of Stripline Discontinuity Problems
Abstract
dc:descriptionThree different but related topics are the concern of this thesis. The first is the development of a technique for accelerating the summation of an infinite series which has the form of a periodic Green's function in rectangular coordinates. The application of this series acceleration technique to the infinite stripline problem constitutes the second topic. In this application, the cutoff frequencies, model currents, and field distributions are found from a method of moments solution of an electric field integral equation. Finally, the scattering parameters of an arbitrarily shaped discontinuity in a stripline are found by solving an integral equation by the method of moments. In the solution of this problem, the series acceleration technique is used to sum the periodic Green's function, and the modal fields of the infinite stripline problem are used for mode matching.
