The Puerto Rican School Counselor: Profile, Ideal and Actual Role
Abstract
dc:descriptionObjective and comprehensive research on school counseling, and specifically, on the counselor role in Latin America is scarce. The purpose of this study was to survey: (a) personal and educational characteristics of the counselors working in the public schools of Puerto Rico, (b) the ideal and the actual role performance of these professionals, and (c) school counselors' recommendations for graduate programs preparing school counselors.
