A Cost Analysis of Impartial Due Process Hearings in Special Education (Illinois)

This study examined the costs of special education impartial due process hearings at the local level in the State of Illinois. In the State of Illinois costs for local level impartial due process hearings are incurred by (a) the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE), (b) special education administrative units, (c) local school districts, and (d) parents/guardians. This study described these costs and assessed their impact on each of these groups.
