Data Base Methods in Educational Measurement Research
Abstract
dc:descriptionA major bottleneck in basic and applied education research is managing large, complex, changing data files. Conventional file management methods are needlessly expensive, difficult to implement and error-prone. In this dissertation it is shown that the network data base model can be used to expeditiously manage very large files. A data base for a large, commonly used file, the Anchor Test file, has been designed and tested, to show that with data base methods, studies that are otherwise exceedingly difficult and/or expensive can be done easily.
