The pumping of liquid metals through open channels by MHD effects can be applied to slag separation or continuous casting processes by the metallurgy industry. This study involves the analysis of the boundary layer structure of non-uniform open channel flow in a rectangular channel, with perfectly conducting sidewalls, an insulating bottom and a uniform magnetic field applied perpendicular to the bottom, the plane of which is sloped with respect to the horizontal.
