The Development of Alfred North Whitehead's Philosophical and Educational Thought
Abstract
dc:descriptionThe main purpose of the dissertation was to show the importance of Alfred North Whitehead's educational writings and how they are related to his metaphysical-cosmological writings. The dissertation makes the point that since Whitehead's educational writings originally appeared during the years spanning 1912-1922, Whitehead was thinking of comprehensive issues in philosophy earlier than is normally accepted by most Whiteheadian scholars. This indicates that a general relationship exists with respect to all of Whitehead's writings as opposed to the commonly held view that his writings represent three different periods of thought.
