Thin-source concentration dependent diffusion
Abstract
dc:descriptionThe diffusion of (Ca ) in NaCl has been measured for various diffusion ,times and for the temperature range (575°C-775°C), using a thin45 source of Ca tracer, rectangular geometry, and serial sectioning. The l6 2 pre-diffusion surface concentration was approximately 3xlO(Ca)-atoms!cm, which, for an average penetration depth of IOOum-300um, produces a maximum (post-diffusion) impurity concentration comparable to or greater than the intrinsic cation vacancy concentration.
