The relationship of coping dispositions and holistic living to perceived health status and satisfaction with life

Abstract

dc:description

The purpose of this study was to concurrently investigate healthy individuals' coping dispositions, and physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual status, as they relate to perceived health status and satisfaction with life. The COPE scales and the Holistic Living Inventory scales were used to measure coping dispositions and physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual status, respectively. The Medical Index and Satisfaction With Life Scale were used to assess the subject's health status and life satisfaction, respectively. The COPE scales, the Holistic Living Inventory scales and the demographic information served as the independent variables. The number of physical symptoms from the Medical Index, and the scores from the Satisfaction with Life scale served as the dependent variables. In order to test the hypotheses, one hundred college students completed the above measures and a series of multiple regression analyses were performed.
