Integrating efficient investment in human resources and manpower planning in Indonesia
Abstract
dc:descriptionThe objectives of this research project were to seek economic theory under which the rate of return and manpower requirement approach are logically consistent with one another and to use this to interpret and explain the empirical results in Indonesia. The rate of return analysis was conducted using earnings data taken from the 1987 Labor Force Survey (SAKERNAS). The manpower supply was estimated from the output of the educational system, and the manpower demand was estimated using the employment-output elasticity from the Cobb Douglas and Constant Elasticity of Substitution (CES) production functions.
