Abstract
dc:descriptionThe purpose of this study was to determine the factors which influenced the development of the instrumentation of the American collegiate wind-band from 1905 to 1941 and to identify early attempts to standardize instrumentation. The study investigated the impact of Albert Austin Harding, Edwin Franko Goldman, the Committee on Instrumental Affairs, and the American Bandmasters Association upon instrumentation practices.
