A measurement of the proton-antiproton going to kaon(short)-kaon(short) reaction from 0.609 to 1.9 GeV/c

The \bar pp\to K\sb{s}K\sb{s}\to4π\sp{\pm} reaction was investigated at incident antiproton momenta between 0.609 and 1.9 GeV/c (1.964 and 2.395 GeV/$c\sp2$) using the Low Energy Antiproton Ring (LEAR) at CERN. This investigation was part of an overall program searching for exotic resonances in antiproton-proton annihilations, focusing on the region near the $\xi$(2220). The $\bar pp\to K\sb{s}K\sb{s}$ cross section is presented as a function of center-of-mass energy over this region. Upper limits are set for the likelihood of the production of the $\xi$(2220) in this channel based on its non-observation in the data presented. In addition, the differential cross section is presented over the limited region of the detector's acceptance. Near 2.149 GeV/$c\sp2$ (1.2 GeV/c) the cross section rises sharply, which is consistent with the $f\sb2$(2150) resonance.
