Phosphorus-31 nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy of human uterus and placenta
Abstract
dc:descriptionThis thesis aims to demonstrate the usefulness of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy in understanding normal human placental and uterine metabolism as well as its application in the study of gestational and gynecological disorders. We have used phosphorus-31 NMR spectroscopy on isolated samples of placenta and uterus (myometrium and endometrium). Our studies have revealed interesting correlations between spectral characteristics and the type of tissue studied, normal and abnormal.
