Development of analytical model relating compressive strength in porous ceramics to mercury intrusion porosimetry-derived microstructural parameters

Abstract

dc:description

The Ryshkewitch equation, σ = σ\sp\circ exp(P), has been a classical formula representing the strength of porous ceramic materials. Here β is an empirical constant. Hence this equation lacks the capability of relating microstructure to actual strengths, especially with regard to β. Correspondingly, this research focused on the relationship between β and the microstructure of porous ceramics.
