Separation of the E2 and M1 form factors of the 6.32 MeV state of nitrogen-15 using (electron,electron'gamma)
Abstract
dc:descriptionThe 6.32 MeV (${3\over 2}\sp-$) state of $\sp{15}$N was studied by coincident (e,e\sp\primeγ) electron scattering. The two transverse multipole form factors (E2 and M1) were separated using a combined analysis of (e,e$\sp\prime$) and (e,e\sp\primeγ) data. This experiment is the first model independent separation of the multipoles that contribute to a mixed transition. Data were obtained with the MAMI A electron accelerator at momentum transfers q = 0.40, 0.63, 0.83, 1.1, and 1.2 fm$\sp{-1}$. Analysis of the data at q = 0.63 and 1.1 fm$\sp{-1}$ is reported here.
