dc:descriptionThe manuscript Vienna, Osterreichische Nationalbibliothek, Musiksammlung, Mus.Hs. 18811 consists of four paper partbooks in oblong quarto format, containing 81 French chansons for four voices by composers active during the reigns of Francis I and Henry II. Seven pieces are chansons spirituelles; the remaining works have secular texts.
