Domestic strifes in Chinese Yuan 'tsa-chu' and English domestic drama

"In view of many prejudiced cross-cultural comparisons of drama in the past, this dissertation proposes to discard Western theories of tragedy and comedy, and base the comparative study on the similar themes and social function of drama in the compared traditions. It investigates ""domestic drama"" as a feasible forum for the comparison of traditional Chinese and English plays."
