Nuclear magnetic resonance study of quantum size effects in supported platinum particles

The author has observed, and studied quantum size effects in the NMR of small, supported platinum particles with a monolayer of carbon monoxide chemically adsorbed to the surface. The effects are observed in the $\sp{13}$C and $\sp{195}$Pt NMR, primarily at 4.2K. He reports nonmetallic spin-lattice relaxation, and changes in the Knight shift at low temperatures.
