Hastening the Development of the Blink-Response with Looking: A Replication and Extension

The purpose of the present study was to determine if the limit of plasticity of the blink-response had been reached. Fantz (1963) has found that infants are capable of visual perception at birth. If using the eyes hastens the development of the capacity for looking, making a stabile pattern available for infants to look at before they are five weeks old might be expected to lead to the development of the blink-response at an age younger than that found by Greenberg, et al.
