Nelson and Donald L, Cleland.The competence of his teacher is a crucial factor in any child's learning, self-understanding, and social adjustment. Indeed, numerous studies have cited the importance of the teacher's knowledge, skills, and attitudes as the key to effective learning in all elementary and secondary educational programs. This project investigated essential competencies of one small but important segment of the profession—the teacher of the intellectually gifted.
