The effects of melatonin injection on glucose tolerance in intact and pinealectomized laboratory rats
Abstract
dc:description.abstractStudies on rat islet preparations have shown melatonin inhibits MAO activity and thereby reduces glucose mediated insulin release. The objective of this work is to investigate the effects of melatonin on insulin release, and on glucose mediated insulin release in the intact and in the pinealectomized rat.
