Robert Schumann'S Grand Sonata No. 3, Op. 14 In F-Minor - "Concert Sans Orchestre": A Performance Analysis
Abstract
dc:description.abstract<p>This study examines the second edition of Robert Schumann's Grand Sonata No. 3, Op. 14 Concerto sans Orchestre. It includes a review of the historical background of the work; summary of Schumann's experience in the sonata genre as evident in the composer's work as an editor and writer for the <em>Neue Zeitschrift für Musik</em>; a detailed analysis of the sonata with a special consideration to the elements of music analysis outlined by Schumann in his own sonata reviews.</p>
