Caracterización y análisis funcional de dos proteínas relacionadas con la regulación hormonal de la dormición y germinación de semillas de haya

Abstract

[EN]The seed is the main reproductive organ of the vast majority of higher plants and can be defined as the mature product of a fertilized egg. The seed formation is a unique adaptation process in the life cycle of higher plants, combining the development of the embryo with a variety of physiological processes aimed at ensuring the survival of the species, being necessary to coordinate the spatial and temporal the growth of various cells and tissues, regulation at the molecular and biochemical level, and strict control by both hormonal and environmental factors. These physiological processes include the accumulation of reserve substances to be used by the embryo when germination starts, and a resting metabolic state complete with drainage, which allows the seeds to survive for long periods until conditions are favorable , restoring growth and then coming to form a new plant.
