Abstract
dc:description.abstractI trust that this paper, in its entirety, will help us understand the impact of the Alberta education system on the Métis people. The understanding gained will help guide instruction and interaction regarding Métis education. So much of Métis history has been “lumped” in with First Nations educational history or ignored because “they are half white.” This Indigenous group of Canada, the Métis, shall be accounted for as an Indigenous group of Canada by our educators. If we educate in, around or on their lands, we need to know their history.
