Benchmarking Virtual Reality Control Methods

This project aimed to create a benchmark test that can be used to evaluate and compare virtual reality control methods using dexterity as a measurement. The results were recorded by asking a participant to perform a variation of a 9-hole peg test in both the real world and in virtual reality for each control method. The time taken to perform the task was recorded and used as a means to compare the control methods to each other and to the real world results. This project has been a success in proving that dexterity can be used to compare virtual reality control methods however more research is required in order to create a true benchmark test that evaluates all aspects of a control method.
