School District's Administrative Policy 6:07 Employee Rules of Conduct as it Relates to Attendance

Abstract

dc:description.abstract

The proposed policy advocacy documents the need to revise a school district's Administrative Policy 6.07 Employee Rules of Conduct as it relates to teacher attendance. The intention of this policy revision is to ensure that teachers adhere to their contractual obligations of being present daily, being on time, being prepared with lesson plans and all the tools that are needed to be ready to provide educational services to all students. The ultimate goal of this policy revision would be to provide administrators with an evaluative tool to hold teachers accountable for their attendance in order to afford administrators the confidence in completing a misconduct or disciplinary hearing. Moreover, the policy revision contains descriptions of district wide support for teachers that would be in place to improve staff attendance.
