Testing and teaching: a study of the relationship between pupil results on the metropolitan Achievement Test (MAT) and pupil results on teacher-made tests
Abstract
dc:description.abstract"Metropolitan Achievement Tests, other standardized tests and teacher-made tests are currently used to measure pupil achievement in School District 15, Moncton, New Brunswick. There appears to be discomfort and controversy about the reliability and use of standardized test results as a basis for making important educational decisions. Therefore, the problems of this research are to clarify the relationship between pupil results on the MAT and pupil results on teacher-made tests and to assess teacher attitudes toward the MAT."
