The Relationship Between Musical Aptitude and Reading Achievement

This study was designed to examine the relationship between musical aptitude scores and reading achievement scores of upper elementary students. The variables analyzed include a test presenting musical aptitude scores and a test presenting reading achievement scores. The following problem and hypothesis were examined. (1) Is there a relationship between musical aptitude and reading achievement scores? (2) H₁-There will be an educationally significant correlation between the musical aptitude scores and reading achievement scores of upper elementary children; however, there was no educationally significant correlation between the musical aptitude scores and reading achievement scores of upper elementary children.
