An Investigation of International Students' Self-Esteem and Public Self-Consciousness on Classroom Communication Apprehension

An interconnected global society presents a need for people to pursue higher education abroad. Statistics show that there is an increase in the numbers of foreign international students on U.S. campuses. This study examines the impact of self-esteem and public self-consciousness on classroom communication apprehension of international students on U.S. campuses. The study uncovers significant correlations between self-esteem and communication apprehension, and between public self-consciousness and communication apprehension in classrooms.
