Abstract
dc:description.abstractThe thesis focuses on the Implementation of Executive Information system (EIS). The thesis will discuss the approaches of implementing EIS, what are organizational barriers need to be overcome, and what are the objectives for the EIS implementation. The key component of EIS is the performance measures. The approach for development of the performance measures and how they are used in EIS for performance management will also be discussed. The thesis will also focuses specifically on implementation of EIS in PETRONAS and the results of the implementation. Survey results indicates that PETONAS is experiencing some issues that need to be addressed. These include issues of the system performance and more critically the doubt that some of the managers have on the usefulness of the performance measures developed and the usefulness of the EIS in general.
