The thesis will discuss the approaches of implementing EIS, what are organizational barriers need to be overcome, and what are the objectives for the EIS implementation. The key component of EIS is the performance measures. The approach for development of the performance measures and how they are used in EIS for performance management will also be discussed. The thesis will also focuses specifically on implementation of EIS in PETRONAS and the results of the implementation. Survey results indicates that PETONAS is experiencing some issues that need to be addressed.
