ΒΕΛΤΙΣΤΗ ΔΙΕΚΠΕΡΑΙΩΣΗ ΤΗΣ ΚΙΝΗΣΕΩΣ ΣΕ ΤΗΛΕΠΙΚΟΙΝΩΝΙΑΚΑ ΔΙΚΤΥΑ ΜΕΤΑΓΩΓΗΣ ΚΥΚΛΩΜΑΤΩΝ
Abstract
dc:descriptionDYNAMIC TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT CONSISTS IN ALLOCATING THE EXISTING NETWORK'S CHANNEL CAPACITY ACCORDING TO THE VARYING TRAFFIC OF THE WHOLE NETWORK. THIS DISSERTATION PRESENTS MODELS FOR TWO DIFFERENT NETWORK ARCHITECTURES WHICH LEAD TO OPTIMAL USE OF THE CHANNEL CAPACITY UNDER REALISTIC CONSTRAINTS AND OPTIMIZATION FUNCTIONS. FIRSTLY, ONE-LEVEL NETWORKS ARE EXAMINED. THE MAIN CHARACTERISIC OF THE ONE-LEVEL-NETWORK MODEL IN COMPARISON TO OTHER WELL KNOWN MODELS PURSUING TRAFFIC-ROUTING IS THAT INCLUDES TWO PHASES IN ROUTING; SO THE MODEL SIZE AND THE COMPUTER TIME NEEDED FOR ITS SOLUTION IS SUBSTANTIALLY REDUCED. SECOND, FOR THEHIERARCHICAL DIGITAL NETWORKS THE PROPOSED MODELS ARE CHARACTERIZED AS ADAPTIVE CAPACITY ALLOCATION MODELS TO THE VARYING TRAFFIC. MINIMUM TRAFFIC LOSS IN THE WHOLE NETWORK IS ACHIEVED.
