ΔΙΕΡΕΥΝΗΣΗ ΜΕ ΒΙΟΧΗΜΙΚΕΣ ΜΕΘΟΔΟΥΣ ΤΟΥ ΜΗΧΑΝΙΣΜΟΥ ΤΟΥ ΑΣΥΜΒΙΒΑΣΤΟΥ ΣΤΑ ΟΠΩΡΟΦΟΡΑ ΔΕΝΔΡΑ
Abstract
dc:descriptionTHE MECHANISM OF THE SELF INCOMPATIBILITY IN THE REPRODUCTION OF THE FRUIT TREES ALMOND AND SWEET CHERRY WAS INVESTIGATED FROM ITS BIOCHEMICAL ASPECT, AS A FORM OF CELLULAR RECOGNITION BETWEEN POLLEN AND PISTIL. REGARDING THE MORPHOLOGY OF INCOMPATIBILITY IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT IN THE TWO SPECIES IS OF THE GAMETOPHYTIC TYPE, WHERE THE REACTION OCCURS AS THE GERMINATING POLLEN TUBES PENETRATE THROUGH THE STYLE. CRITICAL TIME FOR THE HOURS AFTER THE POLLINATION AND IN THE ALMOND THE 72 HOURS RESPECTIVELY. FOR THE DETERMINATION OF THE BIOCHEMICAL CHANGES THAT ARE POSSIBLY ASSOCIATED WITH THE INCOMPATIBLE POLLEN TUBES REJECTION PROCESS THE METHOD OF ELECTROPHORESIS IN POLYACRYLAMIDE GEL IN THE PRESENCE OF SDS (SODIUM DODECYL SULFATE) WAS USED. THE SEPARATION AND COMPARATIVE STUDY OF TOTAL SOLUBLE PROTEINS EXTRACTED FROM EACH SPECIES FLORAL PARTS IN CERTAIN TIMEPERIODS AFTER THE POLLINATION SHOWED SOME DIFFERENCES AMONG THE STYLE PROTEIN PATTERNS ESPECIALLY NEAR THE INCOMPATIBILITY CRITICAL TIME. VARIATION IN SOME PROTEINS' METABOLISM WAS NOTICED AFTER THE SELF POLLINATION OF A CULTIVAR IN COMPARISON TO THOSE AFTER ITS CROSS -POLLINATION. THIS SEEMED NOT TO BE CONNECTEDWITH THE CULTIVAR'S BEHAVIOUR AS SELF-INCOMPATIBLE OR SELF-FERTILE. AMONG THE NUMEROUS BANDS OF TOTAL PROTEINS FOUND THE PRESENCE OF SOME SPECIAL PROTEINS WITH SACCHARIC SIDE CHAINS, THE GLYCOPROTEINS, WAS DETECTED. THEIR APPEARANCE IN CERTAIN SITES POINTED OUT THAT THEY POSSIBLY PLAY A ROLE AS ACTIVE SUBSTANCES DURING THE INCOMPATIBILITY REACTION.
