ΜΕΛΕΤΗ ΤΟΥ ΦΛΟΙΩΜΑΤΟΣ ΣΤΟ ΑΓΡΩΣΤΩΔΕΣ ΦΥΤΟ AEGILOPS COMOSA VAR THESSALICA ΣΕ ΕΠΙΠΕΔΟ ΟΠΤΙΚΗΣ ΚΑΙ ΗΛΕΚΤΡΟΝΙΚΗΣ ΜΙΚΡΟΣΚΟΠΙΑΣ
Abstract
dc:descriptionTHE ONTOGENY AND DIFFERENTATION OF PHLOEM OF THE GRASS AEGILOPS COMOSA VAR. THESSALICA HAS BEEN STUDIED BY MEANS OF LIGHT AND ELECTRON MICROSCOPY. IT WAS FOUND THAT THIS GRASS BELONGS TO THE C3 PHOTOSYNTHETIC TYPE. THE PROTOPHLOEM SIEVE ELEMENTS IN THE LEAF AND THE STEM DIFFERENTIATE EARLIER THAN THOSE OF METAPHLOEM, BUT SOON AFTER THEIR MATURATION THEY OBLITERATE. IN THE ROOT, HOWEVER, PROTOPHLOEM SIEVE ELEMENTS DO NOT OBLITERATE, AND THIS IS ATTRIBUTABLE TO THEPRESENCE OF COMPANION CELLS. IN ROOTS IN PARTICULAR THE ONTOGENY OF PROTOPHLOEM VIA SUCCESSIVE ASYMMETRICAL CELL DIVISIONS WAS STUDIED, IN WHICH MICROTUBULES PLAY A SIGNIFICANT ROLE. PLASTIDS DEVELOP CUNEATE CRYSTALLOID INCLUSIONS OFPROTEINASES COMPOSITION AND PROVIDE THE INITIAL INDICATION OF DIFFERENTIATIONONSET. MATURE SIEVE ELEMENTS ARE DEVOID OF FUNCTIONAL NUCLEUS, ORGANIZED CYTOPLASM, RIBOSOMES, DICTYOSOMES, MICROTUBULES AND VACUOLES.
