Η ΕΠΙΔΡΑΣΗ ΤΗΣ ΚΕΤΑΜΙΝΗΣ ΣΤΟ ΜΕΛΑΙΝΟΡΑΒΔΩΤΟ ΝΤΟΠΑΜΙΝΕΡΓΙΚΟ ΣΥΣΤΗΜΑ ΤΟΥ ΕΓΚΕΦΑΛΟΥ
Abstract
dc:descriptionTHE EFFECT OF KETAMIN ON AMPHETAMINE AND APOMORPHINE INDUCED TURNING BEHAVIOURAFTER UNILATERAL STRIATAL LESIONS WERE STUDIED. THE NUCLEUS CAUDATUS OF 11 MALE WISTAR RATS WAS UNILATERALLY LESIONED BY STEREOTAXIC INJECTION OF KAINIC ACID. AFTER OPERATION, THE RATS SHOWED PORTURAL ASYMMETRY, AS WELL AS IPSIVERSIVE TURNING ACTIVITY WHICH LASTED FOR ABOUT 7 DAYS. AFTER THE 20TH POSTOPERATIVEDAY THE RATS WERE INJECTED I.P. EVERY TWO DAYS ONE OF THE FOLLOWING DRUGS THAT AFFECT THE DOPAMINERGIC TRANSMISSION. KETAMINE (20 MG/KG), AMPHETAMINE (2 MG/KG), APOMORPHINE (0,5 MG/KG), HALOPERIDOL (0,5 MG/KG), ATROPINE (1 MG/KG), AMPHETAMINE+KETAMINE, APOMORPHINE+KETAMINE, HALOPERIDOL +KETAMINE, ATROPINE+KETAMINE. KETAMINE AND AMPHETAMINE, AS WELL AS THEIR COMBINATION, INDUCED IPSIVERSIVE TURNING, WHILE APOMORPHINE, HALOPERIDOL AND THEIR COMBINATION WITH KETAMINE RESPECTIVELY INDUCED CONTRAVERSIVE TURNING. ATROPINE OR ATROPINE-KETAMINE INDUCED NO TURNING BEHAVIOR TO THE ANIMALS. FROM THE RESULTS WE CONCLUDE THAT KETAMINE ENHANCES THE ACTION OF THE DOPAMINERGIC MECHANISMS IN THE NIGROSTRIATAL SYSTEM. THE ACTION OF THE OTHER DRUGS THAT WERE TESTED, AS WELL AS THE MODEOF THEIR ACTION IN THE STUDIED DOPAMINERGIC SYSTEM, IS DISCUSSED.
