Experiences Of Trust After Infidelity In A Previous Relationship
Abstract
dc:description.abstractThis study identified how someone experiences trust after leaving a previous relationship after partner infidelity. The amount of research that covers this topic is limited, and many researchers opt to remove participants who do not wish to maintain their current relationship. Many researchers focus on reconciliation and forgiveness, which creates a narrow focus and does not cover those who do not wish to remain in their relationship after experiencing partner infidelity. This research examined the process participants utilized to overcome their experience of their partner’s infidelity. This research looked at the actions participants took to overcome partner infidelity and relationship dissolution that worked as well as what did not work. In this study, participants described their experiences of partner infidelity and the process they used to overcome their experience.
