Recent advances in drug therapy of tuberculosis

Abstract

dc:description.abstract

The current medications for tuberculosis treatment could cause a lot side effects, and indirectly lead treatment failure by patient intolerance. Scientists are trying to analyze the gene differences in resistant tuberculosis isolates, find out the reason and later target mechanism could be achieved in treatment. They also provide some fast test methods for checking the susceptible and resistance at the beginning of diagnosis. The outcome therefore can be improved a lot, prevent unsuccessful and inefficient treatments which may lead to later treatment associate resistance. These current anti-tuberculosis drugs , their side effects ,resistances and recent diagnosis methods are summarized in this thesis.
