X-Ray Fluorescence Cross Sections for the Elements 55 <= Z <= 60
Abstract
dc:description.abstractX-ray cross sections have been found for the elements Cs, Ba, La, Ce, Pr, and Nd. Two methods are used to calculate cross sections which are both compared to theoretical calculations. Comparisons are also made to theoretical relative transition ratios. Finally, cross sections of x-ray transitions for the elements Cs, Ba, and La are compared to the experimental results of Sharma et al. (SH08). Overall, there is good agreement with theoretical calculations. Cases with a large discrepancy relative to theory can be explained by the low intensity Kβ x-ray of 55Mn, and problems fitting peaks near the Kα and Kβ x-ray of 55Mn. In the case of lanthanum where the difference between experimental and theoretical calculations is high, there is good agreement with Sharma et al. (SH08).
