Plan de producto turístico sostenible de base deportiva y experiencial en Aspe. Nuevas ruralidades contemporáneas
Abstract
dc:description.abstractThis paper deals with the development of a sustainable tourism product plan based on sports activities and cultural experiences for the municipality of Aspe, Alicante. It is based on principles of environmental, social and economic sustainability, with an integrated approach aimed at diversifying the tourist offer and revitalising the local economy. This plan highlights the potential of the natural and cultural resources of the territory, such as the Los Algezares Municipal Natural Park, the approved hiking routes, and the gastronomy, with special emphasis on table grapes with Protected Designation of Origin. The territorial analysis of the municipality and the Medio Vinalopó region shows a strategic location and good connectivity with cities such as Alicante and Elche. However, significant limitations have been identified, such as insufficient tourist infrastructures, a scarce supply of accommodation, a lack of inter-administrative coordination and the absence of effective tourism marketing strategies. These shortcomings coexist with strengths such as the attractiveness of the old town, the high level of citizen interest in participating in local initiatives and the diversity of cultural, natural and sporting resources. The plan proposes strategic actions to promote sustainable tourism, such as the creation of hiking and cycling trails, the improvement of tourism signage and the development of digital tools to enrich the visitor experience. A key aspect is the promotion of participatory governance, involving public and private stakeholders and the local community in tourism planning and development. It also proposes seeking synergies with neighbouring municipalities to create joint tourist routes and access regional, national and European funds to finance sustainable projects, stressing the need to overcome the model of mass tourism and promote moderate and sustainable growth based on the development of local resources. This will not only diversify the economy, but also preserve the cultural and natural heritage and position Aspe as a unique, resilient and competitive tourist destination.
