Characterization of molecular and functional changes regulating hypobaric hypoxia-induced right ventricular hypertrophy
Abstract
dc:description.abstractThe major finding of this part of the study is that in vivo Wy-14,643 admnistration elicited direct effects on mitochondrial respiratory function and cardiac contractility. The data show that Wy-14,643 treatment attenuated mitochondrial respiration (state 3 respiration and rate of ADP phosphorylation) in the RV while promoting uncoupling of mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation (increased state 4 respiration and basal leak) in the LV.
